Early morning, drive to visit BANTEAY SREI, a unique temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. This is the fabled pink temple of women, so called because it is made of pink sandstone & considered a tribute to the beauty of women. Its small size, delicate carving and remarkable state of preservation make Banteay Srei one of travelers' favorite temples.
Head to Kbal Spean, one of Cambodia’s earliest Hindu sites and refreshingly different from the other Khmer monuments. Take a 3-kilometre trek through jungle to appreciate the scope and beauty of Kbal Spean. The trek ends at the unique ‘River of 1000 Lingas’, a riverbed featuring stone carvings of the Hindu Gods, the animals (frogs, cows) and phallic symbols of fertility. Learn about the history of Hinduism in Cambodia while exploring this unique river.
Next stop is jungle covered temple of TA PROHM which has been left relatively untouched. Enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers grow over and through the ruin walls, allowing you to experience the temple with the same wonder as the early explorers who discovered it. We also visit ome nreaby temples of Banteay Kdei, Sra Srong, Ta Keo, Thommanon, Chau Say Tevado.
Having dinner while enjoying traditional Apsara dance.
The best time to visit Kbal Spean is from July to December when the river is in its best shape. In the other times of the year, the water dries up quickly so the scenery might not be as beautiful as it is.
